Russell County accident injures 2 people

RUSSELL -- Two Russell County residents were injured in an accident Friday night.
According to information from the Russell Sheriff's Department, two vehicles collided on the center line of Old U.S. Highway 40 about 4 miles east of Bunker Hill at about 11:15 p.m.
The driver, Eric Ball of rural Russell County, was flown to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, for injuries. A 12-year-old girl riding in the Ford Focus Ball was driving was transported to Russell Regional Hospital. The girl's name has not been released.
Both were ejected from the vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was Regis Weiss, Russell. He was not injured.
According to a press release from the sheriff's department, alcohol might have contributed to the accident. The incident remains under investigation.
