Downtown gears up for barbecue event

The annual Blues, BBQ and Bargains events is scheduled for July 16 to 18 in downtown Hays.
Events will include the second annual Kansas City Barbecue Society cook-off, live music from Shawn Cole and Shades of Gray, a beer garden, a car and bicycle parade down Main Street, Rod Run & Show, and barbecue food available for purchase.
Much of Main Street downtown will be blocked during the July 17 sidewalk sale activities, and parking will be limited on Main Street throughout the weekend.
Brochures detailing the event and schedules will be available at the Hays Welcome Center, 27th and Vine, next week.
