One dies following accident near Levant

COLBY -- A Colby man died Tuesday after a one-vehicle accident near Levant in Thomas County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1998 Firebird was northbound on Thomas County Road 11 at approximately 11:37 a.m. when the driver, Zachery Thompson, 21, Colby, lost control of the vehicle. The car entered the west ditch, overturned and came to rest on its top.

Thompson and passenger Donny J. Spresser, 25, Colby, were thrown from the vehicle. Both were taken to Citizens Medical Center in Colby.

Thompson was transferred to a hospital in Denver.
