Shana Meyer

8/12/2012

Shana Meyer is the assistant vice president for Student Affairs at Fort Hays State University. Originally from Americus, Meyer came to FHSU in 2006 after previously working at Kansas State University, KSU-Salina and Emporia State University.

Meyer oversees the student life cluster at FHSU, which includes residence halls, Tiger Tots, Memorial Union, student organizations, Greek life, student publications and more.

"Student affairs is what I love to do," Meyer said.

Meyer also enjoys campus life and several activities on campus.

"I love athletics. I love when the students are really behind the games and involved and cheering and dressed up. I love things like PlayFair where you really do start to see just the silliness and playfulness behind students and them starting to connect with each other. And I love things like the student government meetings, as well, where you see students really have a lot of power with the money they're able to distribute and some of the decisions they're able to make on policies. That's why I do this job -- because I really enjoy pretty much all of it."
