Astra Bank will acquire First National
Officials at Astra Bank this week announced plans to acquire First National Bank in Hays and Plainville, pending federal approval.
"For more than a century now, this bank has been serving people in and around our home communities with integrity and a deep commitment to helping them succeed. We have deep roots in this region of Kansas, and with this acquisition, we plan to bring that same commitment to the Hays and Plainville areas," said Kyle Campbell, Astra Bank CEO and president. "We believe these two communities fit perfectly with the style of banking we provide."
The acquisition is expected to be finalized in early 2013.
Campbell said the bank's customers can expect a seamless transition.
"Our intention is for the bank's customers in Hays and Plainville to never be inconvenienced in the slightest by this change over. We think they will find being Astra Bank customers a very positive experience," Campbell said.
Scandia-based Astra has locations in Scandia, Abilene, Belleville, Chapman and Sutton, Neb. The bank, an FDIC member, was chartered in 1911.
