Friends and family members are organizing a benefit for Vince and Jennifer Lehmann from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Schenk Building at the Ellis County Fairgrounds.

Jennifer, daughter of Ed and Lena Meder of Victoria, is undergoing treatment for Stage IV colon cancer. She was diagnosed with the disease early last fall, said Amy Feauto, who is helping with the event.

A 1994 Victoria High School graduate, Lehmann graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1998. She worked as a pediatric nurse before taking a leave of absence.

Vince is the son of Gene and Lynne Lehmann, Luray. He graduated from Lucas-Luray High School in 1989 and attended FHSU.

The couple live in Salina and have three children, Macy, 5, Carson, 4, and Colton, 1.

The menu for the benefit will be pulled pork and all the "fixins." A freewill donation will be taken.

Entertainment will be provided by F.A.T.E., Frank's Attribute to Elvis.

There also will be an auction of items donated by local merchants.

Tickets for a raffle sponsored by the Luray Lions Club will be available. Raffle items include a quilt, flat-screen TV and butcher-block table. The raffle will be at a later date.

A fund has been set up, and donations can be sent to Jennifer's Fund, 2076 240th, Hays, KS 67601, or taken to any Sunflower Bank in Kansas.
