Brownell man faces federal gun, drug charges

WICHITA -- A Brownell man could face 40 years in federal prison after being charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
Charges against Keith A. Peters, 44, were announced today by the U.S. Attorney General's Kansas district office.
Peters also faces fines up to $2.25 million if convicted for the crimes, which are alleged to have occurred May 4 in Ness County.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Treaster is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
