KansasWorks will host its third statewide virtual career fair Tuesday in conjunction with Convergys Corp., a global leader in relationship management. The company wants to hire up to 500 home agents for its operations before the end of the year.

Convergys Corp. is hiring for customer support representatives, sales and service representatives, and technical customer support representatives.

Job seekers can visit workforce centers during two sessions that will be offered at 9 a.m. and noon Oct. 30 at locations statewide, including Hays.

Job seekers are encouraged to dress appropriately. KansasWorks staff will be available to help participants with resume preparation and job counseling services. Convergys will not conduct formal interviews during the career fair. Job seekers must apply online through the company's website at www.convergysworkathome.com to be considered for open positions.

Anyone with questions should contact their nearest Workforce Center or visit KansasWorks.com.

Home agent positions include salary, health benefits, flexible scheduling and paid training. Home agents will provide customer service support for various Convergys clients. The pay is $9 per hour plus incentives, and employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as tuition reimbursement.

Agents must meet certain home office standards to be considered, including a quiet place to work inside their home, a personal computer that meets Convergys' minimum standards, high-speed Internet access and a noise-canceling headset. A complete list of technical requirements can be found at www.convergysworkathome.com.
