Eagle Communications has kept a secret: That "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," the ABC Emmy Award-winning reality television series providing home renovations for deserving families, hosted by Ty Pennington was going to help a family in Chapman.

Eagle was asked to help Pennington and will provide the family with a variety of services. In each episode of the program, a family that has faced some sort of recent or ongoing hardship -- such as a natural disaster -- is profiled. The Chapman community was hit by a tornado in early June. ABC announced the fortunate family Tuesday.

Crews from ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" are expected in Chapman to begin work on a custom home for the family of an Army soldier who was wounded in Iraq. The network announced at Fort Riley that Patrick Tutweiler and his family will have a new home in Chapman.

"We are very pleased to be able to participate in this project," said Eagle Director of Business Development Dennis Weese.

In addition to providing digital cable television and high speed Internet to the crew working on the site in Chapman, Eagle also will install the coaxial cable, Ethernet and additional broadband wiring the home requires.

"We will also give the family Eagle expanded basic cable television and Eagle high-speed Internet services for a year," Weese said.

The show's producers have been coordinating efforts with a Chapman construction contractor for a makeover of a home in Chapman. This includes interior, exterior and landscaping, which is performed in seven days while the family is on a paid vacation.

Eagle Communications Inc. is a Kansas based broadband services company with more than 250 employee-owners. The company operates 25 radio stations in Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri, as well as cable TV systems in Kansas and Colorado. The company also offers e-business solutions, Web hosting, high-speed Internet, wireless Internet and digital phone services in most service areas.
