Residents slated to address Ellis City Council
ELLIS — The election of council president will highlight Monday’s regular meeting of the Ellis City Council.
The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. in the council meeting room.
New business will include insurance quotes; requests for city property use for the annual Ellis Riverfest; a request to renovate an outbuilding in PlayWorld Park; a quit claim deed for property in Lot 7, Block 16, Highlands Addition; municipal swimming pool policy; municipal services fees; HVAC modifications to City Hall; and approval of hiring a public works employee.
Residents also are on the agenda to talk about 2012 department head appointments and city law enforcement.
Following the election of council president, Fort Hays State University students will give a presentation on fire hydrant flow coding. There also will be TIF bond document discussion with a representative of Central States Capital Markets.
Unfinished business items include water rates and the extended stay policy at the Ellis campgrounds.
Administrative items include sewer plant repair, Seventh Street paving, vehicle repairs, fireworks, late payment after utility shutoff, upcoming financial audit, golf course report update and Washington Grade School’s graduation, which is the same time as the May 21 council meeting.
