Tigers to play for MIAA tourney title

KANSAS CITY, Kan — The Fort Hays State Unviersity baseball team will play for its first MIAA Tournament Championship.

The Tigers, the No. 6 seed, knocked off second-seeded Missouri Western State University on Saturday, 3-2, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Fort Hays will face No. 1 seed University of Central Missouri on Sunday. The Mules handed the Tigers their first loss in the double-elminiation bracket Friday, 5-0.

The Tigers will have to win twice against Central Missouri, ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division II, to claim the tournament title. The first game begins at 11 a.m. The winner of the MIAA Tournament receives an automatic bid to the Division II national tournament.
