Fort Hays State University President Edward Hammond announced  the university campus and Sternberg Museum of Natural History will close at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday so  people can travel home safely.

The Virtual College has canceled Internet classes for the rest of Tuesday.

The decision about whether the university will be open tomorrow will be made at about 5 a.m. Wednesday based on conditions at that time. Per established university policy, if there is no announcement on the media and the university Web site in the morning, that means the university is open.
