Hays man killed in Sunday accident

A Hays man was killed in an accident at approximately 8:50 p.m. Sunday in Phillips County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Lloyd E.Mintzmyer, 66, was killed in the two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 183, just south of the Kansas Highway 9 junction.
According to reports, Mintzmyer was driving north on U.S. 183 in a 2001 Ford Ranger when his pickup drive left of center and struck a semi head-on.
The 2004 Peterbilt was driven by Kerry L. Breon, 51, Phillipsburg, who was not injured in the accident.
