The Heartland Community Foundation will benefit from the recent announcement that the Greater Salina Community Foundation has been recognized for again having organizational and financial practices that are in accordance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations.
In order to achieve confirmation of compliance with the National Standards, community foundations must undergo an extensive review of their organizational and fiscal policies and procedures.
Because the HCF is an affiliate of the GSCF and operates under the same policies and procedures, follows the same investment practice and uses the GSCFs' approved agreements and other documents, the HCF also is considered in compliance with National Standards.
"It tells our donors that our operations are among those of the elite community foundations in America," said Mendi Alexander, HCF board chairwoman. "The Salina Foundation's effort to adhere to these standards and to go through the confirmation process is another benefit of our affiliation."
