Honor Flight heads back to D.C.
Special to The Hays Daily News
Kansas Honor Flight is headed to Washington with more veterans. The 27 World War II veterans who will be traveling to Washington are excited about the opportunity to see the World War II Memorial. They depart from Wichita and Kansas City early Wednesday for a two-night stay.
In addition to visiting the memorial that honors their service, they will enjoy a tour of other memorials and museums. A highlight of the trip is to visit Arlington National Cemetery to witness the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown.
Additional trips are scheduled throughout the summer and fall. World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans and their families are encouraged to contact Kansas Honor Flight at (620) 546-2400 or visit www.kansashonorflight.org.
