Road work at state park begins
Special to The Hays Daily News
Work is under way on a job to overlay Kansas Highway 261 into Prairie Dog State Park in Norton County.
The project begins at the U.S. Highway 36 junction and continues into the state park's main office. The scope includes a mill and hot-mix overlay of asphalt material. Contractors will mill 1 inch of the existing pavement, and then place a 2-inch lift of new asphalt material to complete the 1-mile project.
Flaggers and a pilot car operation will guide one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours. Delays of 15 minutes or less should be expected.
