The staff of The Hays Daily News earned 47 awards in the 2013 Kansas Press Association's Awards of Excellence for entries published during the 2012 calendar year. The press association in Wisconsin served as judges in this year's contest.
The awards will be delivered at the KPA's annual convention in May in Topeka.
"We are humbled by this recognition from our peers," said managing editor Ron Fields. "The men and women of The Hays Daily News continue to prove year-in and year-out that this publication is the most reliable and consistent news source in northwest Kansas, as well as the most effective vehicle for advertisers to reach customers."
In its 83rd year of publication, The Hays Daily News has a staff of 15 editors, reporters and photographers; eight advertising professionals; six circulation and business experts; and a digital media expert.
