LENORA -- Billed as cowboy boots and country roots, the Lenora Jubilee is this weekend.
Started more than 100 years ago, the annual event is expected to expand the small town's population to more than 3,000, said Scott Sproul, president of the Lenora Jubilee Association.
Festivities kick off Friday with a concert featuring Jason Jones and Logan Mize at 8 p.m.
"Jason Jones is one of the new acts coming out of Nashville," Sproul said.
Mize is from Wichita and recently moved to Nashville.
The jubilee has been fortunate in having top 10 artists perform in the past, he said.
There also will be a race car simulator beginning at 7 p.m. for those wanting to take a turn in the driver's seat.
Saturday morning activities begin with garage sales and a 3- or 5-mile walk starting at 7 a.m.
The Family and Community Education trash to treasure display opens at 9 a.m. in the senior center. Sand volleyball starts at 10 a.m., followed by the parade at 11 a.m.
Afternoon events include an inflatable carnival and wobble trap shoot at 1 p.m., creature races at 4 p.m. and the Eagle Radio kids pedal power pull at 5 p.m.
The Bellamy Brothers take the stage at 8 p.m., with the winner of the 2010 Norton Idol Contest as the opening act.
Sproul said the Bellamy Brothers are ranchers from Florida and enjoy bringing their music to rural areas.
The Pro Tour FMX high-flying entertainment is new this year. The two motorcycle stunt drivers will present three shows each night.
"We're trying to expand our appeal beyond the music," Sproul said.
Concert ticket-holders will be able to see the stunt drivers from their seats, he said.
Many of the events, including the concerts and FMX entertainment, are in Larrick Park, and there will be food vendors.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for those ages 5 to 12 per day. Children younger than 5 are admitted free.
The Jubilee Association started a festival fund through the Kansas Rural Communities Foundation.
