Children from families with incomes at or below 130 percent of the poverty level are eligible for free meals. For July 1 to June 30, 2013, 130 percent of the poverty level is $29,965 for a family of four.

Those with incomes between 130 and 185 percent of the poverty level are eligible for reduced price meals for which children can be charged no more than 40 cents. For July 1 to June 30, 2013, 185 percent is $42,643 for a family of four.

Children from families with incomes at more than 185 percent of poverty pay full price.

Though the meal is free or at a reduced cost, all children receive the same meal.
