Norton preps for Halloween fest
NORTON -- The Halloween Parade and Wiener Roast will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 24 in downtown Norton. The Norton Volunteer Fire Department and the Norton Area Chamber of Commerce again will co-sponsor the event.
Participants in the parade are asked to assemble downtown at 5:45 p.m. Tara Vance, chamber executive director, will divide children into groups from pre-school to sixth grade. Representatives of DSNWK and others will hold signs for each age group to help children line up.
The parade will step off at 6 p.m. and will move east along Main Street to State Street, then south to Washington Street and east to the City Hall. At the conclusion of the parade, the free wiener roast will be held by the Norton Volunteer Fire Department. The wiener roast is financed through donations from businesses and individuals in the Norton area.
All children are invited to participate. For more information, call the chamber at (785) 877-2501.
