Blown tire leads to injury accident
OBERLIN -- An Oberlin man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday that began with a blown tire.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Marlin Anthony Hackney, 44, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 36, approximately 4.5 miles east of Oberlin, when the front passenger tire blew. The 1993 Ford pickup left the roadway to the right and overturned in the south ditch.
Hackney was taken to Decatur County Hospital for treatment of injuries. A passenger, Wayne Benson Hackney, 47, also of Oberlin, was not injured.
