Kansas Next Step will play host to its fifth Oil and Gas Seminar Wednesday and Thursday in Hays.

Kansas Next Step is a non-profit educational organization. It uses the seminar as its main fundraiser. The registration fee goes toward providing assistance for students and teachers. The organization has assisted more than 1,100 students (fifth grade through graduate school) and teachers from Kansas with more than $130,000 in funding. The High Plains Music Camp at Fort Hays State University was recently awarded $4,500.

There are 14 speakers scheduled for the seminar at Fox Pavilion, 1202 Main. One of them is Edward Cross of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association, who will give a presentation entitled, "The whole fracking story -- hydraulic fracturing regulatory and policy consideration."
