Rooks Co. hospital adds new system
Special to The Hays Daily News
PLAINVILLE -- The Rooks County Health Center is continuing its proactive approach for more advanced health care with its latest purchase of a Stryker 1488 HD endoscopic surgical camera system. The Stryker 1488 is one of the most advanced endoscopic cameras on the market, and RCH is the first hospital in Kansas to own this model.
With the help of the Stryker 1488, RCH surgeons can capture better endoscopic images due to the enhanced brightness, clarity and resolution. With these improved capabilities, the 1488 allows surgeons to have more visibility of procedures.
"Over the years, I have used several endoscopic cameras from different companies -- the Stryker 1488 is without a doubt the best I have ever used," said Melva Oller, registered nurse and surgical director at RCH. "The clarity and brightness of the picture is comparable to physically seeing organs first hand. This is such a great surgical tool, and I am proud Rooks County Health Center is the first in the state to use this great piece of equipment."
