Rose Garden expands to new location

Rose Garden Steak Haus & Catering has bought Fanchon Ballroom to expand its operations and capabilities.
Now named the Rose Garden Banquet Hall, the new site at 2250 E. Eighth was appealing because it has plenty of parking and two rooms that can hold a total number of 890 people, said Lynn Schmeidler, Rose Garden's executive manager. The restaurant and catering business has big plans for its new acquisition, Schmeidler said.
Renovations will include updating the kitchen, installing a digital sign outside, adding siding, new decorations and seating in the foyer. Rose Garden hired three managers and will add more wait staff to accommodate the new business, she said.
The renovations will be done by March, but customers can make reservations in the hall now. The venue can host full-service wedding and events, and the business offers decorations and wedding packages, Schmeidler said.
"We've talked about doing some craft fairs, gun shows, kid dances, polka dances, New Year's Eve events, Valentine's Day and brunch for Mother's and Father's Day," Schmeidler said.
The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by the Ellis County Ministerial Alliance will be at the new banquet hall, Schmeidler said.
