I-70 bridge repairs start soon in Trego County

8/14/2012

On Monday, a job to repair eight Interstate 70 bridges in Trego County is scheduled to begin. The work includes placing a polymer overlay to seal the bridge decking/driving surface along with some minor patching. The bridge locations are: east and westbound bridges carrying I-70 traffic at Exit 127 and Exit 128; and four more bridges carrying I-70 traffic over the Union Pacific Railroad and Old Highway 40 -- approximately 1.5 miles east of Exit 135. While the bridge repairs are underway, traffic will sometimes be reduced to one lane in each direction. The posted speed limit will be reduced from 75 mph to 60 mph through each construction zone.
