USD 489 invites public input on superintendent search
Special to the HDN
Hays USD 489 has selected the Kansas Association of School Boards to lead the search for the district's next superintendent.
An essential part of the search process is input from school staff, parent organizations and community members. The focus groups are designed to provide input for the school board on what characteristics others recommend for the new superintendent. Participants will be asked to provide feedback about the attributes, experience and knowledge that the new superintendent should possess. In addition, they will be asked to share the strengths of the district and the most critical needs, which the new superintendent should address.
Each group will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Focus groups will be led by a KASB representative and held at 6 p.m. Nov. 4 for parents and community members and at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 for site councils, PTA, and home and school organizations. Both groups will meet at Hays High School's lecture hall
