Sports will rule the day at the 2012 Christmas Tree Lane & Auction.
Kelly O'Brien Koerner of Hays Area Children's Center, said a large variety of sports-themed goodies will be auctioned at the event.
The 2012 Christmas Tree Lane & Auction will be Nov. 17 at Fox Pavilion. RSVPs are due Nov. 10, along with a $40 donation. For the donation, the donor receives a buffet dinner ticket and complementary wine.
While many items might have a sports theme, the night also is a way for the HACC to honor Hays Pediatric Center.
"They are going to be our honorary guest for the evening," Koerner said. "We just want to let them know we appreciate everything they've done for all the families around here."
Koerner said doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and those in attendance can enjoy complementary wine and browse items available. The buffet and silent auction will start at 6 p.m., and the live auction will begin at 7 p.m.
Money raised from the auction and dinner tickets will be given to Infant and Toddler Early Intervention, Healthy Start Home Visitor Program, Child Care Aware of Northwest Kansas and Licensed Child Care.
The money the programs receive will be used to purchase necessities, programs and services to help families who have infants or newborns who are in need of support services and outreach.
Some of the items to be auctioned are a Kansas City travel package that includes club-level seats to the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts game Dec. 23.
There also will be individual items auctioned off, such as a Kansas State University themed Christmas tree, a Dallas Cowboys jacket, an autographed University of Kansas Jayhawk basketball, Green Mountain Coffee and more.
