Five injured in Ellis County wreck

An accident on U.S. Highway 183 in Ellis County left five people with possible injuries Friday afternoon.

Hays resident Paul McRae, 75, was driving the first vehicle, which was southbound on the wrong side of the road at a mailbox. According the Kansas Highway Patrol, the car pulled away from the mailbox in front another vehicle, causing vehicles to hit head-on.

The second vehicle was driven by Alvin Paramore, 51, Plainville. Tressia Paramore, 44, Shelby Paramore, 7, and Amber Paramore, 5, all of Plainville, also were in the vehicle at the time of collision.

All were wearing safety restraints, and were taken to Hays Medical Center with possible injuries.

The accident occurred near North Locust Road.
