Two injured in I-70 accident

A one-vehicle accident west of Colby on Tuesday sent two people to the hospital.

Michael David Smith, 38, Littleton, Colo., was eastbound on Interstate 70 at about 4 p.m. Tuesday when his vehicle struck a guard rail, left the roadway and rolled down an embankment.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Smith and 11-year-old Brandon Smith, Littleton, Colo., were transported to Citizens Medical Center, Colby. Both were treated and released. A second passenger, David Smith, 13, had no injuries.

Michael and David Smith were wearing seat belts, according to the highway patrol.
