NORTON -- A Phillipsburg man was injured Friday after falling asleep behind the wheel in Norton County.

NORTON -- A Phillipsburg man was injured Friday after falling asleep behind the wheel in Norton County.

Clinton James Craig, 20, Phillipsburg, was northbound on U.S. Highway 283 approximately 18 miles south of Norton at approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday when he fell asleep and his vehicle drifted across the highway into the west ditch, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol. The report said Craig woke up, overcorrected and lost control of his car. The vehicle rolled several times, coming to rest on the highway facing west.

Craig was taken to Norton County Hospital with injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP report.
