Nebraska man injured in accident near Colby

COLBY -- A Nebraska man was injured Thursday when the truck he was driving overturned north of Colby.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Dennis F. Swearingen, 56, Atlanta, Neb., was southbound on U.S. Highway 83 about 3 miles north of Colby early Thursday afternoon when his 2004 International truck entered the west ditch, overturned and came to rest on its side.

Swearingen was transported to Citizens Medical Center, Colby, with possible injuries. He was not wearing a safety belt.
