Student concerts begin tonight

The student honor recital is set for 6:30 p.m. tonight at Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall, followed at 7:15 by the student talent show.

Thursday's performance schedule will feature the faculty orchestra at 7, also at Beach/Schmidt, conducted by Steven Amundson. Featured soloists will be Allen Vizzutti from Seattle on trumpet and Edmund Stein, a violinist in the San Diego Symphony.

Vizzutti will be the featured soloist in Friday night's faculty jazz band performance, beginning at 7:45 at Beach/Schmidt.

The final student concerts at Beach/Schmidt on Saturday are: 11 a.m., junior high string orchestra; 11:20, junior high gold band; 11:40, junior high blue band, 1 p.m., high school symphonic orchestra; 1:30, high school silver band; and the finale at 2 by the high school honor band.
