OSBORNE -- Work to repair a bridge on U.S. Highway 24, located approximately 4 miles west of Osborne, will begin Monday.

The prime contractor, Bridges Inc. of Newton, will set up a traffic control lighting system that will allow travelers to drive through the project while the construction work is under way.

A delay of five minutes or less is to be expected. The single driving lane will be reduced to a 16-foot width restriction while work occurs on the bridge.

"As always, we ask that the public pay close attention to the signs and the construction workers within a highway work zone," said KDOT Public Affairs Manager Kristen Brands.

The estimated cost of the construction job is $253,330. Work is scheduled to be complete, weather permitting, by the end of November.

For questions concerning the road construction project, contact KDOT Area One Engineer Harold Schleicher in Phillipsburg at (785) 543-2163 or harolds@ksdot.org   or Brands at (785) 877-3315 or kristenb@ksdot.org in Norton.
