One-year extensions to Hays USD 489 administrator's current contracts were approved at Monday night's board of education meeting. The motion was approved in a 5-2 vote, with Darren Schumacher and Greg Schwartz voting against the measure.

Contracts approved for extension included: Fred Kaufman, superintendent, $136,165.30; Richard Cain, assistant superintendent of finance, $95,042.33; Will Roth, deputy superintendent of curriculum, $102,689.01; and Mark Hauptman, assistant superintendent of special services, $98,825.83.

All four are on three-year contracts, which will extend through the 2012-13 year.
