Fort Hays to host campfire tales
Fort Hays State Historic Site will host Campfire Tales from 8 to 9 p.m. Friday. Admission is $5. Kansas Historical Foundation members and children 5 and younger are admitted free.
Reservations are required for all attendees. Call (785) 625-6812 for reservations. Fort Hays is located at 1472 U.S. Highway 183 Alternate, 4 miles south of Hays Interstate 70 exit 157 on U.S. Highway 183 Alternate.
Musician and historian David "Zerf" Zerfas will entertain around the campfire with songs and stories about people and events from Kansas and Old West history. His songs include "When the Smoky Runs Dry" and "Beautiful Katie (Bloody Bender)." Refreshments will be provided.
