Outside agency funding on city agenda
By DAWNE LEIKER
As the city of Hays' 2013 budget nears completion, Hays city commissioners will consider outside agency funding requests during Thursday night's work session at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
Outside agency requests submitted to commissioners at their June 7 work session totaled $449,705, an increase of $11,318 from last year.
"The city commission will have an opportunity at this meeting to make changes to those requests," said Assistant City Manager Paul Briseno at a Tuesday morning press conference. "Either fund them as they do every year, or potentially increase some of the ones who have requested increases."
Commissioners also will consider an outside agency funding request recognition policy during Thursday's work session.
Other agenda items include:
* Hays Neighbors Association's sidewalk request.
* Term limits for advisory committee appointees.
* An ordinance requiring two forms of identification to enter drinking establishments.
