The First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir will perform its annual Christmas Cantata at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the church. The public is welcome to attend.

The choir, directed by Johnny Matlock, will perform "The Voices of Christmas," written by Joseph M. Martin.

Martin was the featured guest clinician in Hays in October 2008. Students from Kennedy and Felten middle schools were under his tutelage for the event.

Narration, readings from biblical witnesses, as well as scripture passages, will be interspersed throughout the cantata. The poignant closing music and narration culminates the experience as each resonates, "We are the voices of Christmas."

First United Methodist Church is located at 305 W. Seventh. For more information, visit www.haysfirstunitedmethodistchurch.com or call (785) 625-3408.
