Hays police have turned over an investigation involving a $50 counterfeit bill to the Secret Service field office in Wichita, according to Chief Don Scheibler.

The bill was found by personnel at Sunflower Bank when they were going through deposits from a local business. Scheibler said the bank reported finding the bill Friday afternoon.

It's not known which business received the bill or when, Scheibler said.
