WaKEENEY -- A high-speed chase Friday in Trego County along Interstate 70 resulted in a rear-end collision that sent two vehicles careening off the road.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, officers were in pursuit of 36-year-old Victor Arnold Gabler of Northglenn, Colo., through heavy rain when the the 2008 Landrover RRV he was driving ran into the back of a vehicle in the eastbound lane of traffic.

The collision occurred at 3:02 p.m., approximately 1 mile east of WaKeeney.

Gabler's vehicle entered the median then continued across both westbound lanes before coming to rest in the north ditch.

A 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Christopher Alan Robben, 49, Victoria, came to rest in the median.

Gabler was taken to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, where he was treated and released into the custody of law enforcement officers.

Robben and passenger Michael Shane Broyles, 42, Victoria, were also treated and released from the hospital.
