OAKLEY -- An accident in Gove County on Thursday left three Grinnell residents with possible injuries, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at 5:23 p.m. on Interstate 70 approximately 4 miles east of Oakley. A vehicle driven by 18-year-old Heather Nicole Wright ran into the back of a vehicle occupied by Elmer Joseph Geist, 80, and Evelyn Geist, 73.

Both vehicles entered the south ditch. The Geists' 1990 Chevrolet rolled and came to rest on its wheels.

The occupants were then taken by Emergency Medical Services to Logan County Hospital in Oakley.

All three were wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.

Do you think just cause the man's old he doesn't go the speed limit? He was doing what the law allows, lady. No matter what the speed is there is a distance you are supposed to stay back from other cars. Maybe you should think about that.

Yes, thank goodness they are all ok. The teenager may not have been attentive but the older couple was probably not driving anywhere near the correct speed to be on I-70.

Thank God Elmer and Evelyn are alright! I hope this teaches the teenager about being an attentive driver! Luckily for her, no one was killed.
