Pianists to duel, take requests at Fox on Friday
By DAWNE LEIKER
Back by popular demand, Dueling Pianos will bring a unique form of entertainment and crowd interaction Friday night at Fox Pavilion, 1202 Main.
According to Daneen Keller, Fox Pavilion's sales, marketing and event manager, Dueling Pianos performed for a private group at the Fox in December and proved to be a crowd-pleaser.
"It went over well, so we decided to bring them back for the public," Keller said.
Founder Caz Bzdek and other dueling piano players of Colorado-based Actual Talent Entertainment Group will perform on two baby grand pianos. Dueling Pianos is able to play "thousands of requests instantly for all ages," Bzdek said. "Because the crowd determines what we play, no two shows are ever the same."
Bzdek will be joined by performers Dan Fischer and Louis Rodgers on Friday evening.
"They will do some songs, and they will duel," Keller said. "And around 11 p.m., we will push all the tables back so people can dance, and they can do requests."
Keller said they have sold about 150 tickets so far and are anticipating "a good crowd," particularly since the show has the potential to draw individuals attending Friday nights' Hays Arts Council Spring Gallery Walk.
Tickets are available through www.ticketmaster.com and from Fox Pavilion and are $20 in advance, $25 the day of show and at the door.
