Local law enforcement presence will be increased Friday as the Hays Police Department will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol in an effort to deter and decrease the number of impaired and intoxicated drivers on the street. The purpose of the program is to saturate the city with roving police officers who continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Officers will place an emphasis on speeding, safety belt and alcohol-related violations. This event is being conducted in accordance with the Kansas Department of Transportation Impaired Driving Deterrence Program.
STOP SELLING THE CRAP! You gotta be kidding. Anyone with that attitude must also promote a fat tax on McDonalds. I'm surprised anyone with that intelligence could read the article. The cops need to lighten up and quit spending $$$'s and enforce the real laws.

I by no means condone drinking and driving but what a crock. Sure come to Hays and enjoy Wild West Fest, stop on by the beer garden for a few cold ones on a hot summers night. One last thing before you leave meet officer so and so and enjoy your ride to the LEC and drop off your $1000 fine.
