Ga. family injured in I-70 crash

GOODLAND -- A Georgia family was taken to the hospital Sunday following an accident on Interstate 70 approximately 3.8 miles east of the Interstate 70 and Kansas Highway 27 junction in Goodland.

GOODLAND -- A Georgia family was taken to the hospital Sunday following an accident on Interstate 70 approximately 3.8 miles east of the Interstate 70 and Kansas Highway 27 junction in Goodland.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Tristan R. Mareau, 16, Cartersville, Ga., was eastbound on I-70 in the left lane when another vehicle attempted to merge into the lane. Mareau tried to slow down and steer away from the other vehicle and went into the south ditch. The vehicle overturned once, according to the report.

Mareau and his passengers, 37, 36, 7 and 6, were taken to Goodland Regional Medical Center. The report said one of the passengers was ejected during the crash. Only one passenger was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
