GRAINFIELD -- A 19-year-old Hoxie man died in a car accident Tuesday morning in Gove County.

Nathan Elias Barnhart was driving a 2000 Ford pickup at 4:21 a.m. westbound on U.S. Highway 40 about 1 mile west of Grainfield when he lost control, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The truck entered the south ditch and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels facing southwest.

Barnhart, who wasn't wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, the KHP reported.
