A look at the latest developments from Haiti on Saturday, 25 days after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake devastated the capital, Port-au-Prince:

AMERICANS DETAINED

Ten Americans facing child kidnapping charges remained jailed in Port-au-Prince. Their Haitian lawyer says the court has scheduled three days of hearings for them next week, with the first on Monday. The Americans were arrested while trying to take 33 Haitian children out of the quake-stricken country into the Dominican Republic without proper documents.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

The U.S. military said World Food Program food distribution in the capital had reached nearly 1.5 million pounds a day for 165,000 people.

SECURITY

One person was shot dead when a gang of men tried to rob a bank in the capital.

DEBT RELIEF

The Group of 7, the world's seven major industrial countries, said it will pressure the International Monetary Fund and other multilateral agencies to forgive Haiti's debts, as they have. The IMF has approved a no-strings, interest-free $102 million loan to Haiti, while the World Bank has provided $100 million in immediate help through a grant.
