Morans choose Manhattan
By MIKE CORN
Sen. Jerry Moran and his wife, Robba, will be moving to Manhattan, although it's unclear exactly when.
The move was confirmed by Moran's communications director, Garrette Silverman. No other information was immediately available.
In April, the Morans put their Hays home on the market after a decision was made to downsize.
"We are not moving to Washington, D.C.," Moran said in April when word about the possible sale of his residence first surfaced.
At the time, he wasn't sure where they might end up, although he said it was likely he'd move closer to an airport to reduce driving time on his trips home each weekend.
Robba Moran also spends a considerable amount of time in the area in her role as a member of the Kansas Board of Regents, overseeing state universities and colleges.
"I like Washington," Moran said in April. "I'm glad you all gave me the chance to work here. But I would never move here."
