BAZINE -- A two-car accident near Bazine resulted in two people being taken to Ness County Hospital.

Connie Jean Baker, 57, Bazine, was driving her 1993 Pontiac car westbound on Kansas Highway 96 at 7:10 a.m. about a half mile west of Bazine. Baker slowed to make a U-turn when a 1997 Volkswagen car following her collided with her, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Baker and Saul Benjamin Rivera, 17, Bazine, an occupant in the Volkswagon, were taken to the hospital, but the driver of the Volkswagen, Asael Alejandro Rivera-Santoyo, 19, Bazine, and passenger Samuel Rivera, 15, Bazine, were not injured.
