College garners national attention
GOODLAND -- The attention Northwest Kansas Technical College's one-to-one iPad initiative has brought to the college has been overwhelming to some degree.
Fast Company magazine named NWKTC as one of its "5 Technologically Decked-Out Schools You Wish You Went To" along with such schools as Duke and Stanford.
In August, Apple spent a week in Goodland, filming a documentary about the school's use of iPads. Chief Information Officer Ben Coumerilh said he couldn't give too many details about the documentary, other than to say it will be used as a marketing tool for how Apple's products can be used in education when it is released in the coming months.
"Typically, northwest Kansas doesn't get that kind of attention, so it's been good for the community, good for the college," Coumerilh said.
