Rain barrel construction scheduled in Victoria, Russell

Roll Out the Rain Barrel events will take place Saturday in Victoria and Russell.

Participants will construct a rain barrel to help conserve water at their homes with the assistance of Kansas State University watershed experts. The $10 registration fee include the necessary materials.

In Victoria, the event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coca-Cola Distributing Plant, 1310 Cathedral, Victoria. Registration can be paid at Victoria City Hall.

Russell's event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Russell County Fairgrounds beef building. Registration is due at Conservation and Natural Resources office, 555 S. Fossill.

Checks should be made payable to Ellsworth County Conservation District.
