Hays police investigate rape reported Saturday

A rape was reported early Saturday morning in Hays.

According to police, the alleged rapist and the victim knew each other.

The alleged rape occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in a residence on Milner.

Police say the victim reported being raped after returning home from drinking at a friend's house.

The case has been referred to the Ellis County Attorney's office for further handling.
